Presentation format and facilities
Following the meeting of the International Paper Committee, all contributors will be notified whether their short paper has been accepted into the Scientific Program for a lecture or poster presentation.
Speaker ready roomAs part of the audio-visual support package available during the Congress we will be providing a speaker ready room. Here you will be able to test your talk on the venue computer system and upload it to their server so that it will be immediately available in your allocated room at your allocated time.
Papers selected for presentation as lectures will be arranged by subject in 10-14 parallel sessions. A period of 15 minutes, plus 5 minutes discussion, will be allotted to each paper. Standard audio-visual equipment (PC, computer projector, screen, microphone, and pointer) will be available in each lecture room. We will be unable to provide an overhead projector in each room—delegates wishing to use transparencies should have them scanned as a PDF file in the speaker ready room.
If you are presenting a lecture, please note that your presentation is 15 minutes long with an additional 5 minutes for questions and movement between sessions. You can upload your talk to the conference centre server by visiting the speaker ready room. Alternatively, there is the option for you to plug your own laptop in; however you should be aware that it is your responsibility to check that your laptop works with the projection equipment within the centre. We have set aside a room in the centre which will be designated as a "practice room" and available for all delegates to practice their talk.
Authors of papers selected for presentation in the seminar format will be expected to give their presentation during a presentation period organised as follows: in the first stage of the period, each author will present a brief summary (3 minutes) in conventional lecture-room format during one of several parallel sessions. In the remaining time authors will present their works concurrently in more detail with the aid of their posters. The Congress will provide poster boards and stands.
The allowable space for each poster will be 1.2m by 1.2m. This size is suitable for an A0 poster.
If you are presenting a seminar, please note that your presentation is 3 minutes long with an additional 2 minutes for questions. You must upload your talk to the conference centre server by visiting the speaker ready room. You will not be allowed to plug your laptop in.
All seminar presentations will be accompanied by a poster. The posters will be display in Hall K in two sessions. A space will be allocated to your poster. Please ensure that you make use of the correct space.
Seminar presenters whose presentation is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon should ensure that their poster is displayed between Monday and Tuesday. Seminar presenters whose presentation is scheduled for Thursday afternoon should ensure that their poster is displayed between Wednesday and Friday.
